Natural Path

The system promulgated by the Mission is known as Sahaj Marg, or the Natural Path of Realisation of the One, the Ultimate.  Unfortunately, the realisation of the Absolute has so far been thought to be the hardest job almost beyond the capacity of a common man.  This mistaken notion prompted by the misplaced teachings and preachings of the so-called leaders of religion, has so deeply settled down in almost every heart that the very craving for higher aspiration seems to have died out therefrom. 

God is simple and can be achieved by simple means.  This is what Sahaj Marg stands for and presents to the world.  The purpose of the Mission  is served if people begin to realise this simple truth and apply it in their daily routine of life. 


 As a matter of fact, the very simplicity of Nature is in itself the veil which serves as an impediment in the way of our progress.  Under the SahajMarg System, this toilsome task is accomplished very easily by the help and support of the preceptor, through the Yogic process of Pranahuti or transmission.  Yoga begins to settle down when the impressions caused by our thoughts and actions begin to be wiped off from our mind.  Sahaj Marg proceeds on with it from the very beginning.

Varna and Caste System

Varna is the nature of an individual based on gunas(Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas) and activities in  which one is interested in a particular kind of job or occupation to earn a living, and Caste means a lineage of an individual about which job or profession his/her very early ancestors used or made to do as a family profession. The whole varna was made keeping in view the dharma that one had to follow.  Varna was never considered by birth if we go through the following instances of our great literature. In Srimad Bhagavad Gita Chapter IV Verse 13, Lord Krishna clearly states that the four Varnas are based on their work and their basic nature and not related to birth at all. "chātur-varṇyaṁ mayā sṛiṣhṭaṁ guṇa-karma-vibhāgaśhaḥ  tasya kartāram api māṁ viddhyakartāram avyayam" The four varnas have been created by Me through a classification of the gunas and activities. During the worship, he offers leaves, flowers, fruits or water to the extent of his ability.  It may be that offering this way is a sign of gratitude, but is a human being really capable of offering to God? Wants and Desires

Generally we have some desires. It is quite natural. But we should not become slaves of our wishes. That means we should not have undue attachment towards the things. We see so many things with the idea of having them. This is not correct. To live in this world we need few things. Aspiring for them is not a vice. Food, water, clothes, shelter, education - all these things are necessities. We can aspire for them. So having things is not bad, but having undue attachment towards them is bad. If you are economically sound, you can have some more comforts. Otherwise you will be called a miser. But you should be in a position to live even without those comforts. That means you should always be prepared to live in all the circumstances i.e., in both favourable and unfavourable ones with utmost satisfaction and contentment. A happy man is one who lives happily in all circumstances.
